Jackets Compete in Wyoming Shrine Bowl All-Star Game!

The 35th edition of the Wyoming Shrine Bowl All-Star football game featured six incoming Yellow Jacket recruits. The game was played on Saturday June 14th in Casper Wyoming before a packed stadium. Players from around the state of Wyomng gather for a week of practice including a trip to the Shriners Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. The week wrapped up with the Shrine Banquet on Friday night where Yellow Jacket Head Coach John Scott was this years keynote speaker. Scott served as an assistant coach for the Shrine Bowl in 1993 and 1994 and was head coach in 1995 and 2001 while coaching high school football in Wyomng.
Playing for the Sorth All-Stars were Scott Boner, LBer (Douglas H.S.), Drew Rollin, RB/DB (Rock Springs H.S.), Stephen Easton FB/LBer (Southeast H.S.) and Chase Tyson LBer (Wheatland H.S.). The Nouth Team featured Scott Soderstrom LBer (Worland H.S.) and Curtis Lindgren DB (Greybull H.S.).
The North held off the South 16 – 10 after stopping the Souths final drive in the final minute of the game. Chase Tyson led the Souths defense with nine tackles and running back Drew Rollin led all rushers with 100 yards on 15 carries. Scott commented, “It was a great weekend of football, especially watching these guys compete. Jacket Football was well represented in this game and every one of these guys proved they can play at the next level”.
