Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State University men’s and women’s cross country teams are both ranked in the latest NAIA Top 25 poll. The women’s team is ranked No. 15 this week falling from No. 8 last week. The men’s team entered the poll for the first time this season at the No. 25.

The game will be broadcast on Friday Sept. 10 at 6 p.m. MT and then again on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 9 a.m. MT. Midco Sports Net can be seen locally on channel 26.

Mitchell, from Hitchcock-Tulare High School, is currently entering his senior year after leading his football and basketball teams to the S.D. state championship game as a junior.

The tournament will be held at the Black Hills State softball complex in Spearfish and is for coed softball teams. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Yellow Jacket softball team.

The women’s team will begin their season on Sat., Sept. 4 in Billings, Mont. with a triangular meet against Rocky Mountain College and Montana State University-Billings. The men’s team will see its first action on Thurs., Sept. 9 when the Yellow Jackets will host their only home meet of the season. The Yellow Jacket Invitational will be run on the golf course at the Spearfish Canyon Country Club.
