 Community Involvement

  • NING - Intergenerational Service-Learning
Our social media adventure, collaboratively coordinated through Black Hills State University’s Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), the Office of Civic Engagement, and the undergraduate mass communication program, initially connects students, senior citizens, and many other community members in a project building a proactive social media network.
The outcome will contribute to the formation of a new online community of "doers" and a student organization on campus that will realize the benefits of social media that leads to problem-solving, service learning and voluntary activity in the local to global community.
Our goals are to encourage and promote the positive use of social media that work to identify and activate service learning opportunities in communities.
