The presentation covers tips in transitioning general education courses to a HyFlex model using a flipped classroom. This system allows faculty and students to transition from face to face online instruction (and back again) at a moment’s notice with no disruption to education and minimal student confusion. It promotes greater student social interaction and leads to more in-depth discussions in the classroom. Software showcased includes D2L, Screencast-O-Matic, and Mentimeter. |

Teri Bauerly, School of Education
In this session, Teri will share suggestions for establishing a sense of community and using digital tools for collaboration in a virtual learning space. Teri uses Flipgrid at the start of a semester to learn faces, names, and information about students. During synchronous Zoom sessions, she uses Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint to provide collaborative learning activities for students to engage with while they are in Zoom Breakout Rooms. |

In this session, Jessica shares how she uses the structure of a forum in her face-to-face composition class. Forums require students to work in small groups, research a topic, make presentations, and lead a classroom discussion. Jessica will demonstrate the overview of the project as well as the pieces that make it especially successful. |
