Instructional Design

Welcome to Black Hills State University's Office of the Instructional Design.

The Instructional Design team Supports, Enables and Equips the BHSU faculty in the use of educational technology as our faculty design and develop quality enhanced active learning face-to-face, hybrid and online courses.  Our goal is to work with you throughout the ongoing enhancement and constant improvement of course design and development using the pedagogy of teaching and in the best and effective use of educational technology.

We will work with you to develop measurable learning objectives that will pave the way to design a course and provide guidance in the alignment of the learning objectives with the course materials, learning activities, and assessments.  We offer guidance and feedback in the quality assurance process of your courses.  We are available to work with you one-on-one.

We also provide faculty development training through regularly scheduled seminars.  As you browse through our website, you will find a variety of resources available to you for Course Design, Tutorials, Faculty Development, and Quality Assurance.

The Faculty D2L Tutorials website contains step-by-step text and video instructions for using the various components within the Desire2Learn learning management system. Please make this website your first source of information for all of your D2L questions. (Login with BHSU email credentials)
