A QuickBooks training for beginners will be held at Black Hills State University in Spearfish Wednesday, Jan. 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Jonas Academic Hall, Room 205.

Jerome Greene credits Black Hills State University for cultivating his passion for history into an accomplished lifelong career. The successes Greene achieved over the years were recognized during during the BHSU 170thcommencement ceremony Dec. 12.
Greene, a 1968 graduate, received an honorary Doctor of Letters and Literature for his career as a National Park Service employee and an award-winning author.
Nine Black Hills State University international students were recognized during a special ceremony recently. The students have completed their exchange program with the University and returned home after the 2015 fall semester.

Black Hills State University photography professor Steve Babbitt had artwork selected for an international exhibit.
Babbitt had three photographs accepted into the Sixth Painting and Mixed Media Competition 2015-2016 at the Lessedra Gallery in Sofia, Bulgaria. The exhibition features 233 pieces of artwork from artists in 43 countries.
Ekenna Anya Gafu was part of the Yellow Jacket football team where he learned discipline on and off the field from head coach John Reiners.
Anya Gafu plans to use the lessons he learned on the field to pursue his career in business or perhaps coaching at the collegiate level after earning his degree at Black Hills State University Dec. 12.
Anya Gafu will graduate with a degree in business administration with an emphasis in economics and finance. He plans to pursue his master in business administration while serving as a graduate assistant coach for a football team.
Cecily Running Wolf is using her love of health sciences and communications to build a career as a marketer in the dental field.
Running Wolf is earning her degree in mass communication with an emphasis in science communication Dec. 12.
Jessica Hill is creative. And from the moment she stepped on the Black Hills State University campus, she was able to cultivate her creativity as an artist and graphic designer and prepare for a career.
On Saturday, Dec. 12, Hill, along with more than 200 candidates for graduation, will walk across the stage in the Donald E. Young Sports & Fitness Center and receive their diploma from BHSU.
