Black Hills State University was named to the 2011 list of Military Friendly Schools this week. The list honors the top 15 percent of higher education institutions which are doing the most to embrace America’s veterans as students.

The Jacket Journal, Black Hills State University’s student newspaper, earned a first place overall award in the American Scholastic Press Association’s annual newspaper competition. This is the second consecutive year the newspaper has won this award.

Dr. Dorothy Fuller, associate professor of education at BHSU, was among the Teacher Education Editorial Board which received the Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching (MERLOT) Cup Award this year. The House Cup is awarded to the Editorial Board that makes the highest level of contributions in an academic year.
