Enrollment at Black Hills State University increased to 4,011 students for the fall 2008 semester. This increase is consistent with the University’s nearly constant growth since it was founded 125 years ago. In the past decade, BHSU has recorded an enrollment increase of 10.25 percent.

Aubrey Baxter competes in shot put at the 2008 BHSU Frostbite InvitationalAubrey Baxter, BHSU junior from Redfield, has qualified for the Olympic Trials in the shot put with a put of 54-00.50. Baxter, a psychology major, is the first BHSU athlete to reach this Olympic milestone.

The Black Hills State University women’s basketball team (26-5) will face the University of Rio Grande (23-7) in the first round of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Division II women’s basketball tournament.
