The Center for American Indian Studies (CAIS) at Black Hills State University is sponsoring the second annual American Indian College Scholarship Gala Saturday, Oct. 25, at the Belle Luce Ballroom above Roma’s Ristorante in Spearfish. Black Hills State received a gift of $3,000 in memory of former Spearfish resident and track and field standout, Mark Larscheid.
The family, led by Mark’s widow Mary Larscheid-Christensen, has organized the Annual Mark Larscheid Memorial Golf Tournament for the last eight years in an effort to celebrate Mark’s life and preserve his memory.  The proceeds went to benefit the Black Hills State track and field program in the form of the Mark Larscheid Memorial Track and Field Scholarship.

Clarkson Family Foundation. RSVP volunteers provide many services to nonprofit organizations including the hospital, local schools, the senior center, and area churches.
