High school students from six area schools took part in an art fair recently at Black Hills State University. Students and teachers took advantage of the vendor demonstrations and seminars.
Black Hills State University will host “What to do When Things Go Wrong,” a financial presentation by Terry Mills, of Consumer Credit Counseling in Rapid City, Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. in the David B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union Jacket Legacy Room. Mills will speak about proactive steps one can take to work with his or her financial institution in a financial pinch.

The Industrial Technology (IT) Department at Black Hills State University is once again expanding. Starting in January four courses will be offered, at the Regional Technical Education Center (Rtec) in Yankton as BHSU makes the associate degree in Industrial Technology available to manufacturing businesses and employees in southeast South Dakota.

Black Hills State University will host Dick Beardsley--marathon champion, motivational speaker, and holder of the fifth fastest marathon time in U.S. history Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 3:30-4:45 p.m. in Jonas Hall Room 305 on the BHSU campus.
Erin Holmes, director of institutional research and assessment at Black Hills State University, was notified that her manuscript, "African-American and White Perception of Police Services: The Impact of Diversity on Citizens’ Attitudes toward Police Services," will be published. The manuscript is tentatively set to be included in the Journal of Public Management and Social Policy (JPMSP) Spring 2010: Volume 16-Issue 1.
