Seven new Black Hills State University students were recently awarded Dakota Corps scholarships to pursue careers in critical-need occupations within the state.
More than 30 Black Hills State University students and several student organizations were honored during the 20th Annual Student Volunteer Awards Celebration.
The Office of Academic Affairs at Black Hills State University has released the dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester. A total of 689 students maintained a grade point average of 3.5 or above while taking at least 12 credit hours to be named to the list this semester. Students are listed by hometown or current place of residence.
Black Hills State University senior, Lila Mehlhaff, was recently named to the prestigious list of Udall Scholars by the Morris K. Udall and Stewart L. Udall Foundation. Mehlhaff was the only South Dakota student to receive the award in 2012 and is the second BHSU student to ever receive the Udall scholarship.
The spring session of the South Dakota Stock Market Game (SDSMG) concluded its 10-week trading session on April 20. Nearly 500 students from 21 South Dakota schools formed 239 teams of stock market investors.
Black Hills State University Presidential Student Ambassadors are giving back to the community by collecting soup labels, milk caps, box tops and Coke rewards points for area schools.

Black Hills State University student Devin Lynn recently attended the Clinton Global Initiative University (CGIU) Conference in Washington, D.C., as he begins a project using social media to connect entrepreneurs in Uganda with entrepreneurs in South Dakota. Lynn is currently in the process of planning a trip to Uganda to carry out his project.
