The Black Hills State University volleyball team has earned a spot in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Championship Tournament. This year’s team has had an exceptional season winning the Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) and reaching the national championship tournament for the first time. On December 2-6 the tournament moves to Sioux City, Iowa, where the champion will be decided.

Black Hills State University is sponsoring the 8th Annual Red Shirt Cultural Holiday Exchange. The event which began as two-student project in 2000 has grown into a campus wide event with participation numerous organizations and classes.

Black Hills State University student, Kimberly Ulmen, received the Williams and Ree Scholarship this year.  Ulmen, junior composite instrumental music major from Kadoka, was awarded $1250. The scholarship is funded by an endowment from BHSU alumni Bruce Williams & Terry Ree.
