The Painter siblings from the Black Hills State University rodeo team won all-around titles in Iowa rodeos this past weekend. The first rodeo was held at Iowa Central Community College in Dayton, followed by the Iowa State University Cyclone Stampede in Ames.

Black Hills State University students and the Spearfish community displayed their homecoming spirit during the recent Swarm Day parade. The theme for the parade was “Starring Sting” and participants were asked to show the Yellow Jacket mascot in the leading role of movie favorites.

The Black Hills State University women’s rodeo team dominated the first college rodeo of the season hosted by the University of Wisconsin at River Falls held September 18th and 19th.

Black Hills State University’s honors program has grown in recent years. This year there are 87 students enrolled in the Honors Program. Twenty-eight of those students are freshman, which is the second largest class to enroll in the honors program.
