The Grace Balloch Memorial Library was recently honored by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for its ten years of dedication as a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site. For the past decade, the library has been collaborating with Black Hills State University to provide tax assistance to primarily low income and elderly individuals.

Black Hills State University students in the Integrative Genomics graduate program will sponsor a presentation by Holly Holt, doctorate candidate from Pennsylvania State University titled “Buzzkills and the genomics of honey bee health” Friday, April 25 at 4 p.m. in Jonas Hall 305.

Black Hills State University's School of Natural Science is collaborating with the Prairie Hills Audubon Society and the Clean Water Alliance to conduct a meeting on the proposed rare earths mine in the Bearlodge district of the Black Hills National Forest.  This public informational meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 23 at 6:15 p.m. in Jonas Hall 204.

The Alternative Spring Break team of eight students and two advisors will discuss their trip and the life-changing experiences they had in Guatemala during a presentation Friday, April 11 in the Trump Room of the David B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union. There will be two presentations the first is at noon and the second will follow at 12:30 p.m.
