Bruce King to present at BHSU

Black Hills State University will host a presentation by Bruce King, a leader of diversity change in higher education, in the David B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union Jacket Legacy Room Thursday, Oct. 11 at noon.

King’s presentation, “There’s Diversity in them thar Hills!”, will address the contemporary diversity issues in South Dakota.  King, assistant vice president for academic affairs and chief diversity officer for the University of South Dakota, has a long history of working for diversity in higher education.  Previously, King served in Minnesota as the cultural education center manager for the Northwest Suburban Integration School District in Maple Grove and as director of desegregation for Bloomington Public Schools in Bloomington.

The event, which is sponsored by the BHSU Office of International Programs and the Center for American Indian Studies (CAIS), is free to the public.  For more information, please contact John Glover, director of CAIS, at JohnGlover@bhsu.edu or 642-6578.
