Dr. Adam Gaffey, assistant professor of rhetoric and philosophy, begins the series Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 3:30 p.m. with his talk “Visualizing Washington’s Union: Repetition and Display of a New ‘Farewell Address’ for the Civil War.” The lecture will be held in Jonas Hall Room 110 on the BHSU campus.
Gaffey will discuss this print from Harper's Weekly depicting a flag display that took place in the U.S. Capitol during celebration of Washington's birthday in 1862 during his presentation Tuesday, Feb. 11.
