Federal contracting seminar to be held in Rapid City

The SD Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO), located on the campus of Black Hills State University, is hosting a seminar, “Introduction to Federal Contracting,” at the University Center-Rapid City, Tuesday, March 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (M.S.T.) in room 127. The seminar will also be available via the Dakota Digital Network (DDN) at Northern State University, South Dakota State University, University of South Dakota and the University Center- Sioux Falls.

“Business owners can gain access to the world’s largest customer through federal contracting,” says Sandy Burns, president of Project Solutions, Inc.

The seminar will cover essential information and provide expert advice on how to develop a detailed strategy for winning federal contracts, how to compete for federal dollars, and what strategies are needed for forming successful partnerships to secure contracts.

Topics will include: prime and subcontracting opportunities presented by contracting officers Bernie Clemens from Ellsworth Air Force Base, Todd Pond from Veteran Affairs, and Kandra Martz from the National Park Service; an overview of certification programs and the System for Award Management (SAM) presented by Jennifer Oberg of the Procurement Technical Assistance Center; ten things you need to know about doing business with the government presented by Sandy Burns, Project Solutions, Inc.; how to market to the government presented by Helen Usera, Project Solutions, Inc.; and strategic bidding presented by Greg Hansen, Project Solutions, Inc.
