SD CEO to host monthly networking luncheon

The South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO), the women’s business center at Black Hills State University, will host the monthly Women in Networking (WIN) lunch at the Spearfish Holiday Inn Swarm Room Tuesday, March 12 from noon to 1 p.m.

WIN is a membership-based group that provides networking opportunities for women.  “The celebration of National Women’s History Month gives us a chance to reflect on the important role women play in our society,” says Helen Merriman, director of the SD CEO. “This month attendees will hear from two women who have made invaluable contributions to business.”

Kay Jorgensen, owner and CEO of KSJ Enterprises, LLC since 2006 and former vice president and CEO of Jorgensen-Thompson Creative Broadcast Services, Inc. will discuss her business experiences and the challenges she has overcome. Jorgensen has also served on the South Dakota House of Representatives and many other commissions and boards.

Becky Gropper, New York Life Insurance agent in Belle Fourche, has been a registered representative for seventeen years.  She will discuss how change has impacted her business and how she has been successful in her industry.

Meetings are held monthly on the second Tuesday. Members are welcome from any community in the Black Hills and may bring a door prize to promote their business.

No commitment to membership is needed to attend the first meeting. Registration for each monthly meeting is $15 and includes lunch. Membership is $40 and can be completed through online registration at www.BHSU.edu/SDCEO or by phone at (605) 642-6435.
