AcV2 architecture, a collaborative design practice in Rapid City, is one of two businesses selected from South Dakota to receive a $1000 Sam’s Club gift card in addition to training through SCORE, a Small Business Administration (SBA) resource partner. The business was nominated by the South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO), located on the campus of Black Hills State University.
AcV2 architecture specializes in adaptively reusing existing buildings and creating infill solutions that catalyze smart growth and renewal. Owner, Patri Acevedo-Riker holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design from the Universidad de Puerto Rico in San Juan, PR and a Master of Architecture from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. “In no other place I resided, have I ever encountered an organization as dedicated to the success of women entrepreneurs as the SD CEO. Simply being considered for this grant is a huge honor for me. My successful nomination process is but one example of how SD CEO champions women-owned businesses in South Dakota,” said Acevedo-Riker
Helen Merriman, director of the SD CEO said, “The grant will provide Patri with access and travel to a two-day educational event designed to help grow her business.”
Double Duty Portable Storage & Movers, LLC in Aberdeen is the other South Dakota business to receive the grant.
The 102 U.S. small businesses were selected based on each business’ need and commitment to ongoing learning and growth in an effort to expand year-round support for small business growth and success. SCORE will sponsor a two-day “High Speed Growth Seminar” especially for the 102 winners, a special training program featuring key executives and workshops on attracting customers, branding, online marketing and developing a sales plan.
