Black Hills Chamber Singers and Jazz Ensemble begin summer tour Sunday

 

 

 Jesse Shelbourn, mass communication major from Winner is one of over 30 Black Hills State University students participating in the Black Hills Chamber Singers and Jazz Ensemble summer tour. The four-day, two-state summer tour will leave following the graduation ceremony Saturday.  The performance tour includes stops at regional high schools and a performance at the new Main Street Square in Rapid City.

The Black Hills State University Chamber Singers and Jazz Ensemble will leave for a two-state, four-day summer tour following the graduation ceremony Saturday.  The performance tour includes stops at regional high schools and a performance at the new Main Street Square in Rapid City.

The BHSU Chamber Singers, directed by Dr. Jonathan Nero, assistant professor of music at BHSU, will perform a selection of madrigals, traditional Irish songs, and traditional American songs. The BHSU Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Randall Royer, professor of music at BHSU, will perform a variety of selections from Duke Ellington’s “Prelude to a Kiss” to Gordon Goodwin’s “Raise My Rent.”

Sunday, May 6

  • 7 p.m. – Eastern Wyoming College, Torrington, Wyo.

Monday, May 7

  • 10:30 a.m. ‑ Custer High School
  • 1:15 p.m. ‑ Hot Springs High School
  •  7 p.m. ‑ Rapid City Main Street Square

Tuesday, May 8

  • 8:45 a.m. ­‑ Rapid City Central High School
  • 12:30 p.m. – Sundance High School, Sundance, Wyo.
  • 7 p.m. ‑ V.A. Hospital/Residence, Hot Springs

Wednesday, May 9

  • 10 a.m. ‑ Edgemont High School
  • 3 p.m. – Moorcroft High School, Moorcroft, Wyo.
