A QuickBooks Training for beginners or intermediate users will be held at Black Hills State University Thursday, Oct. 13 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Governor’s Electronic Classroom in the basement of E. Y. Berry Library and Learning Center.
The South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO) has partnered with the CPA firm Casey Peterson and Associates, Ltd., to bring a day-long seminar to BHSU.
Theresa Hook, a 6 year member of the accounting team at Casey Peterson and Associates, will be facilitating the training. In addition to providing accounting services for clients, Hook is also the firm’s QuickBook expert and has been a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor since 2003. In 2009, she became a Certified Consultant for the Sleeter Group Community Network, a community of experts in accounting software. She is also certified in QuickBooks Point of Sale.
Attendees will learn how to: write checks; record deposits; reconcile bank statement; perform payroll; enter and pay vendor bills; invoice customers and receive payments; create and understand financial statements; generate a detailed look at the item list; use double-sided items to implement job costing; track sales tax; properly record liabilities on the balance sheet; utilize sub-accounts; customize reports; enter and reconcile credit card charges; and use class tracking to track income and expenses for different locations.
