Black Hills State University accounting students are volunteering their time to assist students, elderly, low-income individuals and veterans with tax preparation and filing as part of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA).
Locations for VITA tax preparation will be at the Grace Balloch Memorial Library in Spearfish every Saturday in February from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. by appointment. Appointments can be made by calling the library at 642-1330. VITA will also be available on the BHSU campus every Tuesday through April 13, (except March 9) in Clare and Josef Meier Hall room 207 from 4-7 p.m. On campus sessions are for walk-ins or drop-offs only, no appointments are necessary.
Those interested will need to bring a copy of their Social Security card, last year’s tax return, and all information pertinent to this year’s return (W-2s, 1099s, etc.). E-filing of returns are available, so please bring banking information.
