Upcoming holiday events at BHSU

Black Hills State University will be hosting several events for the holiday season.

The Winter Concert performed by the BHSU Concert/Community Band on Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. will be held in the Clare & Josef Meier Recital Hall. The band, under the direction of Christopher Hahn, will perform a variety of traditional and non-traditional band pieces. Admission is free.

BHSU’s theatre department will portray Kris Kringle’s personification of good will and holiday spirit in Miracle on 34th Street. Performances will be held Dec. 3-5 at 7:30 p.m. in Woodburn Theatre. General admission tickets are $6.

A performance of the beautiful and popular Vivaldi "Gloria” will be held Dec 6 at 2:30 p.m. and Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. Dr. Jonathan Nero will conduct the BHSU choirs and a chamber orchestra in Clare & Josef Meier Hall.

The Madrigal Dinner featuring the BHSU Singers will host an evening filled with theatre, dinner and choral singing Dec .18, 19 and 20. The Choir Room in Meier Hall will be decorated in the style of a Medieval castle and the singers, in costume, will lead the audience through several favorite customs of the times before dinner. During dinner the singers and others will entertain their guests with madrigals and familiar carols. After dinner the Singers will present a concert of songs of the Christmas season. Tickets are $35.
