Dr. Roger Miller, associate professor of geography at Black Hills State University, will be escorting a college study tour to Australia and New Zealand. Community members are welcome to join the group.
The tour itinerary includes a stop in Sydney, where they will visit the opera house, Harbour Bridge, and the opal factory. The group’s itinerary also includes stops at Coffs Harbour, Surfer’s Paradise, Sunshine Coast, Fraser Island, and Brisbane. An optional portion to the trip is an extension to New Zealand which would include visiting Auckland, Rotorua, and the Waitomo Caves.
The group will leave May 18, 2009 and return June 2, 2009. They will spend 12 days in Australia and three days in New Zealand.
Miller joined the BHSU staff in 1991. He received a bachelor’s degree in geography from the University of Western Australia. His master’s in geography and his education doctorate in curriculum and instruction were both obtained from Brigham Young University.
