Dr. Ahmad to present at Constitution Day

Black Hills State University, will celebrate the 221st anniversary of the United States Constitution with a presentation by political science professor Dr. Ahrar Ahmad entitled “American Democracy and the Muslim World” Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 11:45 a.m. in the Jacket Legacy Room of the David B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union.

Ahmad will examine the reasons American constitutionalism experiences such difficulties being replicated in non-western contexts. Specifically Ahmad will explore the textual, cultural, and historical forces that explain the alleged hostility towards U.S. democracy in the Muslim world.

There is no cost to attend this presentation; join us and gain valuable knowledge concerning a very important topic. This event is sponsored by the Chiesman Foundation for the Promotion of Democracy at Black Hills State University.
