Dr. Ahmad to present at Constitution Day

Black Hills State University, will celebrate the 221st anniversary of the United States Constitution with a presentation by political science professor Dr. Ahrar Ahmad entitled “American Democracy and the Muslim World” Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 11:45 a.m. in the Jacket Legacy Room of the David B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union.

Ahmad will examine the reasons American constitutionalism experiences such difficulties being replicated in non-western contexts. Specifically Ahmad will explore the textual, cultural, and historical forces that explain the alleged hostility towards U.S. democracy in the Muslim world.
