Black Hills State University students return to campus this weekend, and the University invites the community to help welcome students and their families to Spearfish.

The community is asked to wear specially designed, bright T-shirts throughout the weekend, to showcase BHSU pride. The special T-shirts are the bright yellow shirts that supporters wore during BHSU Night at Downtown Friday Night in Spearfish.

"BHSU students and their families love Spearfish and will appreciate this welcoming presence as they eat, shop and visit businesses and organizations through the community during move-in day on Saturday, Aug. 22, and throughout the weekend," said Corinne Hansen, director of University and Community Relations.

Local businesses that wish to participate are asked to have their front line staff wear the shirts, as well as welcome students on their business marquees.

T-shirts are available by emailing Corinne.Hansen@BHSU.edu. In lieu of payment for the shirts, consider making a donation to the Spearfish Food Pantry. BHSU supporters donated more than $1,100 to the Spearfish Food Pantry with the BHSU Night at Downtown Friday Nights in July with the T-shirts.

BHSU student Move-In Day is Saturday, Aug. 22. On Sunday, Aug. 23, the community is invited to the Community Campus Fair &amp BBQ, at 5:30 p.m. in the Young Center Field House. Tickets to the BBQ are $7 each. In addition to the community meal, local business and organizations and student organizations will have booths set up in the Field House. Classes begin on Monday, Aug. 24.
