BHSU Beta Gamma Sigma business honor society earns high honors

The Beta Gamma Sigma honor society chapter at Black Hills State University earned High Honors from the international organization, which represents the largest alumni group for graduates of business programs in the world.

Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) will recognize the BHSU School of Business with High Honors on social media, in publications, and during BGS events and affiliated conferences throughout the year. With the High Honors designation, the BHSU chapter is eligible to submit award nominations for Chapter Advisor of the Year Award, Business Achievement Award, and Entrepreneurial Achievement Award.

Dr. Greg Farley, Dean of the College of Business and Natural Sciences at BHSU, noted the Business School is among the top five percent in the world based on accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The School of Business first achieved this standard in 2014, reflecting the value of a BHSU business degree to students, alumni and employers.

“The High Honors designation from Beta Gamma Sigma reflects the commitment of the students and the organization’s faculty advisors: Dr. Susan Dana and Ms. Laura Prosser. The School of Business faculty and staff create a positive learning environment, which prepares students for various professional outcomes after graduation,” Farley said.

Beta Gamma Sigma is committed to recognizing not only the exceptional efforts of highest-achieving chapters, but also a globally diverse group of talented business leaders. Through these awards, the organization shines a spotlight on outstanding chapters, Chapter Advisors and Deans.

The BHSU School of Business offers eight bachelor degree programs, one associate degree and an MBA program delivered at BHSU-Rapid City. The school’s mission is to drive regional success by educating future business professionals through exceptional teaching, integrated real-world experiences, community engagement, and impactful scholarship.
