BHSU Jacket Zone announces Downtown Friday Nights grand prize winners
BHSU elementary education major Karley LaFountain accepts her $500 BHSU scholarship with President Jackson and Sting. The BHSU Jacket Zone announced the summer's "spin the wheel" grand prize winners Aug. 18 during Spearfish Downtown Friday Nights - BHSU Night.
Downtown Friday Nights attendees had the chance to win big each week with every spin of the wheel at the BHSU booth outside of the Spearfish Jacket Zone store this summer. Participants won prizes and were entered into the grand prize drawings. The Spinning Wheel Grand Prize winners were announced Aug. 18 during BHSU Night at Downtown Friday Nights.
Area businesses and organizations showed their support by wearing BHSU clothing on Aug. 18 to celebrate BHSU Night and residence hall move-in day. Community support for BHSU is important and appreciated by the university.
Donnelle Culver, Jacket Zone manager, said the store had a great response with the spinning wheel outside the store and that they gave away over a hundred prizes each evening during Downtown Friday Nights.
"We really appreciate and are proud of how the community and University support our efforts to promote our students and their goals! We look forward to hosting many events that will bring us all together throughout the year," said Culver.
Culver said the Jacket Zone enjoys giving back to the community and encourages everyone to visit the store for shopping, eating, and free events.
During the Yellow Jacket's football season, the Jacket Zone offers a discount on merchandise on Tuesdays following each home game. Shoppers will receive 5 percent off their purchase at the Jacket Zone for every touchdown scored by the Yellow Jackets touchdown on Touchdown Tuesdays. The discount is offered at all Jacket Zone stores (Spearfish, Rapid City, Sioux Falls, and the Young Center).
