Free Sales and Use Tax Business Seminar to be held at Joy Center

South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity at Black Hills State University will host a free two-hour Sales and Use Tax seminar on Wednesday, June 21 at the BHSU Joy Center (1351 St Joe St) beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Paula K'nigge, Revenue Agent from S.D. Department of Revenue, will speak on the following topics: who needs a tax license, how and when to apply for a tax license, exemptions from sales and use taxes, exempt entities, use tax, municipal taxes, purchases for resale, how to file sales tax returns by paper and electronically, municipal gross receipts tax, and tourism tax. K'nigge will also cover any specific issues or questions participants have.

According to the SD Department of Revenue, Business Tax, knowing what taxes apply to your business and how and when to file returns can be very confusing. Attending this short workshop will give you an opportunity to receive important information, find helpful resources, and ask questions to help lessen the confusion and make paying taxes less stressful.

Register for this free workshop  by June 20. For more information or to register for the seminar, please visit www.BHSU.edu/SDCEO or call 605-642-6435
