Give Nursing A Shot! Summer Camps

Are you interested in a future career in nursing? During our Give Nursing A Shot! Summer Camps, students will have the opportunity to learn more about nursing and healthcare topics and even participate in several hands on activities including*:

• Suturing
• CPR Training
• Choking Maneuver
• Blood Typing
• Taking Vital Signs
• Touring a Healthcare Facility (High School Only)

Training will by led by the SDSU College of Nursing faculty, medical professionals from the Black Hills area, and the West River Area Health Education Center. 

Camp sessions are day camps only. Drop-off and pick-up must be arranged by students. No overnight accommodations are available.

Cost: Free, but limited to 25 spots per camp. 

Application closes June 10th. Campers will be notified via email starting June 1 whether they have been selected.

Middle School Camps

• Rapid City: June 27 - 29, held at the BHSU-RC campus
• Spearfish: July 18 - 20, held at the BHSU Spearfish campus

High School Camps

• Rapid City: June 27 - July 1, held at the BHSU-RC campus
• Spearfish: July 18 - 22, held at the BHSU Spearfish Campus
