WHEN: Friday, May 8, 4p.m.

The traditional commencement ceremony has been postponed, but we still want to celebrate the incredible accomplishments of all our graduates through a Virtual Commencement Ceremony. We can't be on campus to celebrate, but we can recognize the work you’ve done to achieve your goals. Remember, your achievements are not diminished by the lack of a traditional ceremony and you can always be proud of what you've accomplished here at Black Hills State University!

We’d like you to send us a photo or video of yourself so we can use it during the Virtual Commencement Ceremony, graduates!

If you already have your graduation cap and gown, please wear those. If not, business casual attire or BHSU wear is recommended. Please take a photo or short video (3 seconds) of yourself that we can show while your name is being read during the virtual ceremony. Email your media file and name to

Statement from President Nichols
