Before the fall semester officially begins Aug. 26 at Black Hills State University, faculty and staff gathered this week with Interim President Laurie Nichols as she shared her plans and goals for the university this academic year.

The SDSMG is a real-time online stock market simulation where student teams research and purchase a portfolio of stocks and compete for cash prizes in the middle school, high school and college divisions.
Black Hills State University held the 5th Annual BHSU Sutton Bay Golf and Fish Outing August 12-14 to raise money for athletic scholarships. Thirty-three people participated raising a record $143,556. Dana and LaDawn Dykhouse contributed an additional $150,000 and an anonymous donor contributed $125,000 to raise the total to $418,556 for the scholarship coffers.
Adan Munoz says transferring to Black Hills State University his sophomore year of college helped him find his career path. A mass communication major with emphasis in photography, Adan is already applying his education through work-study positions in BHSU Athletics and Marketing & Communications.
