BLACK HILLS STATE UNIVERSITY SENIOR FINE ART EXHIBITION OPENS AT THE DAHL

The artwork of Black Hills State University seniors is currently on display at the Dahl Arts Center of Rapid City as part of the annual Senior Fine Art Exhibition. 
  
The exhibition, hosted by the Rapid City Arts Council, will be available for viewing until May 28th, with an opening reception for the participating students on April 22nd from 5-7 p.m. The exhibit is located in the Sen. Stan Adelstein Linda K. Clark Gallery of the Dahl Arts Center. 
  
This is BHSU’s third Senior Fine Art Exhibition, and its largest yet with approximately 230 pieces on display. Twenty-three BHSU seniors graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts or Art Education are participating.  
  
“The Black Hills State University Senior Exhibition offers a diverse blend of media and methodology, featuring the work of 23 fine art seniors. These individuals represent a group of cultural advocates that are making an impact through both their artistic and educational accomplishments,” said Michael Baum, assistant professor of art at BHSU. “We are fortunate to have such a proficient and prolific group of students.” 
  
Among the students’ exhibits, a variety of art methods, mediums, and concentrations are displayed. Artwork shown includes photography, graphic design, and studio art pieces.  
  
This event is sponsored by BHSU College Liberal Arts Fund, Michael Baum and Desy Schoenewies, the Black Hills State Photography Program, the South Dakota Arts Council, and the Rapid City Arts Council. 
  
The BHSU seniors participating in the show are Alexis Brady, Lara No Braid, Hailey Franklin, Nicole Klungness, Damon La Croix, Troy Pheko, Karin Sandness, Valeen Thovson, Keegan Baatz, Erin Bender, Matt Burditt, Caley Gruntmeir, Alisha Henning, Alex Hunnes, Kathryn Jones, Aidan Marcinkowski, Erica Popelka, Eunice Straight Head, Kala Wallace, Paige Clark, Regina Nachtigall, Katie Plymate, and Amanda Thompson.
