BHSU TO HOST THE JOY OF LEARNING – A FESTIVAL OF TALKS

This summer, Black Hills State University is offering a unique opportunity for community members to learn from expert faculty. The Joy of Learning – a Festival of Talks will include 20 one-hour talks by BHSU professors throughout the week of June 14-17th.

Faculty from the arts and sciences will speak on such topics as the geology of the Black Hills, the mathematics of gerrymandering, the chemistry of color, how to listen to Beethoven, the pleasure of opera, the occult’s use of photography, and bird migration, just to name a few examples.  All sessions will be held at the Joy Center on the campus of BHSU unless otherwise indicated. Several of the musical presentations will be in Meier Recital Hall.

Dr. Amy Fuqua, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at BHSU, says, “It is a delight to offer this festival of talks to the public. The knowledge of our BHSU faculty is an invaluable resource that can serve not only our students but also our wonderful Black Hills community.”
