Annual part-time job fair to be hosted under the BHSU Skywalk

Students investigating the BHSU part-time job fair
At the start of each academic year, Black Hills State University hosts a part-time job fair for students. This year the fair will be Thursday, August 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. under the skywalk between the Jonas Science and Student Union buildings. Masks are encouraged, and this year there will be extra social distancing between tables to accommodate with CDC guidelines.

The fair is open for all BHSU students. “The fair is beneficial because it not only helps students find part-time work while going to school, but also shows the strong bond the campus and community have and how we both want our students to succeed,” says Stephanie Harmon, program assistant to the vice president for enrollment management.

In the past, the fair has hosted around 25 employers. Harmon adds that instead of the $25 booth fee for employers, BHSU is simply asking employers to bring a non-perishable item to be donated to the student food pantry on campus.

The current list of employers includes:
  • 2 Broke Girls
  • 605 Media and Entertainment
  • Butte Electric Cooperative, Inc.
  • City Brew Coffee
  • Dickey’s BBQ Pit
  • Holiday Inn/Lucky’s 13
  • Jackson Dental
  • Northern Hills Training Center
  • Sawyer Brewing Co.
  • State Farm – Jodi Garcia Agency
