We had so many responses for the BHSU Love Stories shared on social media last week, thank you to everyone who submitted. We are happy to be home to so many families and the beginning to many journeys. Here are more BHSU Love Stories we wanted to share with you!

Nicole Goetzinger and Ashton Legerski
This couple can be seen on campus today. Current students Ashton and Nicole met through an old roommate. Ashton is a music education major from Sheridan, Wyo., and Nicole is an economics and finance major from Martin.

Ashton said, “We bonded through music, and hiking in the wilderness. Ian (Ashton’s old roommate) told me she liked me, so I asked her out on the bridge on the way to Bordeaux. It was the best decision I’ve ever made. She is the absolute love of my life! We are in Choir together and also play in the Pep Band.”

Mr. and Mrs. Brett and Stephanie (Trezona) Theeler
Proud BHSU alumni, Brett and Stephanie met in 1997 during their freshman year. Thanks to mutual friends in a history class, the two decided to go out on a date, and the rest is history.
“We were married in 2000, and we will celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary this summer.  We currently live in Maryland and have two kids, Braden (14) and Allison (12),” Stephanie shared.

Megan Koens and Thomas Mauck
These two are also current students! Megan, an elementary education major and early childhood education minor from Faulkton, and Thomas, an environmental physical science major and outdoor education minor from Longmont, Colo., met during a carpool to the S.D. Jessica Hibl and Paul McLaughlin
Paul McLaughlin, a senior said, “I met the love of my life, Jessica Hibl, through sports at BHSU. She a volleyball player and I am football player. We started dating my freshman year as we grew together as athletes and students and most of all grew in love.”

They were engaged a little over a year ago on Feb. 3, 2019. They will be getting married after graduation this summer, June 6.

“We are so grateful for BH, because without BH we would have never met and I wouldn't be able to marry my best friend this summer,” Paul added.

Mr. and Mrs. Dustin and Samantha Christensen
Dustin shares, “We met as sophomores working as Resident Assistants in Heidi Hall. Took a while for me to ask Samantha out. Luckily she was patient enough and married me. We are both enjoying life's journey together!”

Mr. and Mrs. Nathan and Megan (Foster) Batteen
Megan graduated in spring 2008 with a degree in business administration, and shortly after, Nathan graduated that fall with a degree in elementary education.

Nathan played on the Football Team during his time at BH and I was very briefly on the Cheerleading Team and was involved in the Tourism Club,” Megan said.
