I’m Brett. I’m from Rapid City, SD. And I am studying English Ed at BH. I am heavily involved in Campus Ventures, a ministry on campus in which I am on servant team. I like to spend my free time watching movies, playing video games, reading (when I’m not in school), hanging out with my friends, and panicking about my future plans. My plans for the future are a little uncertain, but I imagine I will end up teaching somewhere. Probably English. I have a ton of great memories at BH. Whether that is meeting friends I have grown to cherish, studying with some of the best professors in the world, asking out my girlfriend, Katie, and meeting my mentor. But, my greatest boon from this school is that of having grown into a person I truly enjoy being and one that I can be confident in.

Throughout my years at Black Hill State University I have been involved in Residence Life, Swarm Days, Student Senate, Presidential Student Ambassador, Reading Council, Student Support Services, and International Service-Learning Program. Being actively involved in all these organization on campus has allowed me to meet some wonderful people and build friendships that will last a lifetime! I would have to say that my favorite memory at Black Hills State would be my participation in the International Service-Learning Program and traveling to Botswana and South Africa. It was not only a once in a lifetime experience, but it also opened my eyes to a different culture and way of life. My hobbies include hanging out with friends, snow skiing, camping, and sports. Following my graduation from Black Hills State University, I plan to obtain a teaching position in a rural elementary school. I have enjoyed every second of my experience at Black Hills State University and time in the Black Hills, I cannot think of a better place to obtain a college education!
