Students invited to be part of SD CEO Leadership Day

A special, one-day event "Student Leadership: Focusing on the Future" will be held on Saturday, Feb. 20, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., at the Spearfish Holiday Inn. This event is designed for women to develop their leadership style and develop confidence as leaders. Registration is $10 and is open to all female junior and seniors at Black Hills State University and other colleges, universities, and tech schools.

South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity, located at Black Hills State University, has hosted this opportunity for students twice since the beginning of 2015, thanks to a grant from Coeur Wharf mine in Lead, SD.

"This is a unique opportunity for students," says SD CEO Director Helen Merriman. "This leadership conference is a spinoff from the Women in Leadership: Focusing on the Future series presented by SD CEO. This special student leadership series really focuses on presenting valuable information to young women who are preparing to step out into their professional careers."

Presenters range from highly accomplished business professionals to BHSU professors and administrators, with topics that include: Emotional Intelligence Global Ethics Networking in Crowd Setting Goals that Produce and Professional Feedback.
