Black Hills State University hosted a School of Business Career & Internship Fair earlier this week, providing an opportunity for employers to meet and recruit BHSU business students.

Business students at Black Hills State University networked with more than 20 employers during the School of Business Career & Internship Fair on campus earlier this week.

The Fair provided BHSU students the opportunity to meet several employers, while also practicing their networking and interviewing skills. BHSU provided two preparation workshops for students prior to attending the Fair to assist with resumes and networking/interviewing tips.

Tessa Robinson, junior business administration major from Sundance, Wyo., said she attended the fair to build her professional connections.

"I'm taking my previous experience as a business owner, combined with what I'm learning at BHSU, and networking here at the Fair for a future position in human resources," said Robinson.

Amber Lind, a BHSU alum and now regional sales coordinator with Aflac, attended the Fair to recruit BHSU students for internships and full-time careers after graduation.

"The students are asking great questions," said Lind. "I remember getting ready to graduate from BHSU back in 2009 and working with my professors to find a job that fit my goals of wanting to work in sales and be my own boss."

Lind said she now oversees 38 independent contractors and managers, coaches, and recruits as part of her job.

A designated time was set up after the Fair for employers to conduct interviews with students.

Robinson says the field of business inspires her and drives her to success.

"Strategy, combined with honesty, integrity, transparency and networking make a business, and business people, successful," said Robinson.

The BHSU School of Business is amongst the top five percent of business schools in the United States, as accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) representing the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide.
