Quickbooks beginner trainings to be offered through SD CEO

Users interested in learning more about the basics of QuickBooks will have two options for QuickBooks trainings. A face to face QuickBooks Beginner workshop will be held Thursday, Oct. 8 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at BHSU-RC. A five-week live webinar series will be offered each Wednesday from Oct. 7 through Nov. 4 from 10-11 a.m., MT/11 a.m.-12 noon, CT.  

The South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO) at Black Hills State University has partnered with the CPA firm Casey Peterson and Associates, Ltd., to present this face to face workshop and month-long live webinar series.

Leah Heidler, a member of the accounting and tax team of Casey Peterson &amp Associates, is the instructor. She is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor and a regular presenter for the firm&rsquos online and face-to-face QuickBooks training classes. Heidler, who has been with the firm for over six years, works with a number of small businesses in the areas of accounting software setup, consulting, troubleshooting, bookkeeping, financial reporting, payroll, and sales tax.  

Topics covered in the face-to-face workshop include: creating a company file creating a chart of accounts writing checks/record deposits reconciling bank statements performing sales tax and running reports.

Live webinar topics will be: Getting Started with QuickBooks Working with Bank Accounts Entering Sales Information Working with Vendors and Payables Ways to be More Efficient Using QuickBooks.
