Black Hills State University-Rapid City (BHSU-RC) invites all members of the National Guard and their families to attend a special evening session Wednesday, Aug. 12 to learn more about educational opportunities available at BHSU-RC.

The hour-long session begins at 5:30 p.m. in room 112 of BHSU-RC, located at 4300 Cheyenne Boulevard, Rapid City. Program options, course schedules, tuition reimbursement, and student success strategies will be discussed.

Guard member and business administration major from Box Elder, Stephen Edoff, will speak briefly about his experience at BHSU-RC. Building tours will be offered and advisors will be available to answer individual questions.

BHSU-RC offers a new military rate that is fully reimbursable with the military educational allowance. To the student, there is no cost. This new tuition reimbursement rate was put in place as a pilot program in Rapid City last year and has now been extended statewide at the higher education centers.

BHSU-RC provides flexible scheduling options and several student support services, including disability accommodations, free tutoring, scholarships specifically for Rapid City students, academic advising, financial aid counseling, career counseling, and veteran&rsquos resources.

Registration for the event is not required. Contact Rachel Skea, coordinator for testing &amp tutoring services, at 605-718-4193 or for more information.
