Emily Morse, BHSU class of 2014, shows off her diploma after fall commencement.  BHSU now offers in-state tuition to children of alumni as part of a new award program approved by the South Dakota Board of Regents.

Black Hills State University is now offering in-state tuition for children of alumni thanks to recent action by the South Dakota Board of Regents.

"At BHSU we have a network of over 17,000 alums.  This new program is an excellent opportunity for B-H alumni living outside South Dakota to send their children to BHSU knowing they will have an exceptional educational experience," said BHSU President Tom Jackson, Jr. "BHSU has one of the top business programs in the world, unique research experiences for students in the sciences, amazing opportunities in liberal arts, and a tradition of excellence in teacher education."

Jackson noted that alumni often express their appreciation for their alma mater and are looking forward to the opportunity for their children to attend BHSU at affordable in-state rates.

Participation in the award program is limited to incoming freshman or transfer students attending the same university from which one of their parents or legal guardians received a degree.  The Board of Regents approved the Children of Alumni Award Program for all South Dakota public universities.
