QuickBooks training for beginners to be offered at the University Center

A QuickBooks training for beginners will be held at the University Center-Rapid City Thursday, Oct. 9 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Mac Lab, Room 103.

The South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO) at Black Hills State University has partnered with the CPA firm Casey Peterson and Associates, Ltd., to provide this day-long seminar to the University Center.

Leah Heidler from Casey Peterson and Associates, Ltd., will instruct the webinars. Heidler, a member of the accounting and tax team of Casey Peterson &amp Associates, has been with the firm for over five years. She is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor and a regular presenter for the firm&rsquos online and face-to-face QuickBooks training classes. Heidler works with a number of small businesses in the areas of accounting software setup, consulting, troubleshooting, as well as bookkeeping, financial reporting, payroll, and sales tax.

Attendees will learn about the QuickBooks interface and will learn how to: create a new company file and chart of accounts write checks and record deposits reconcile bank statements and credit cards and perform payroll and sales tax and run reports. Participants will also learn the basics of accounting.
