BHSU admissions to hold fall on the road informational sessions

           Beth Oaks, director of admissions at BHSU, speaks to a group of prospective Black Hills State University students. BHSU will hold four on-the-road receptions, answering questions and providing information on BHSU to prospective students and their families.

Black Hills State University is hitting the road during the fall semester, offering informational sessions at high schools in South Dakota and Wyoming.

Students will be able to apply for admission into BHSU at each reception. Students that choose to apply at the receptions will have the application fee waived. Admissions representatives will also be available to help with financial aid questions and applications. A drawing for a $500 BHSU scholarship will be held at each reception.

Four "BHSU on the Road" receptions are scheduled for the fall semester. The schedule includes:

&middot Sioux Falls, 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 26, Sheraton Hotel and Convention Center

&middot Gillette, Wyo., 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 29, Holiday Inn Express

&middot Pierre, 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 5, Ramkota Hotel and Convention Center

&middot Rapid City, 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 9, Rushmore Plaza Holiday Inn

Beth Oaks, director of admissions at BHSU, said the events are open to future and potential students, their families and siblings. BHSU faculty, alumni and students will attend each reception, answering questions and providing information to students on the University, campus life and academic programs.

"The &lsquoOn the Road&rsquo receptions are quick informational events for prospective students and their families," Oaks said. "It&rsquos great for students who are seeking information about what BHSU has to offer."
