In this series “6 questions with 6 grads,” Black Hills State University will highlight the future plans of some of the University’s May 2018 graduates. Alex Hancock, corporate communications and graphic design major from Jordan, Minn., landed a full-time job with Evergreen Media in Rapid City.  

BHSU spring commencement ceremony to honor nearly 390 graduates; honorary doctorate awarded to Dr. Lowell Amiotte

Nearly 390 graduates will be recognized during the 175th Black Hills State University Commencement Ceremony. The spring commencement ceremony is at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 5 at the Donald E. Young Sports and Fitness Center on the BHSU campus. The public is invited to join and celebrate the students’ achievements. Degrees to be awarded include 66 master’s degrees, 294 bachelor’s degrees, and 28 associate’s degrees. An honorary doctorate will be bestowed upon Dr. Lowell Amiotte, Oglala Lakota and a 1964 graduate of BHSU.

You don’t have to travel or go online to earn your degree in Rapid City. Even if you aren’t the engineer type.

BHSU-Rapid City’s facility has become a resource for high school students earning college credit, twenty-somethings pursuing a degree, and career-oriented individuals looking to further their education and open up more opportunities. The liberal arts degrees offered at BHSU-RC complement the creative atmosphere fostered in the Black Hills.
