Westcore Wildlife Forensics

WestCore Service: Library Construction

1. Microsatellite DNA Library: Identification and development of a series of microsatellite DNA loci that can be used for genotyping.

2. Genomic Library: Establishing a population of host bacteria, each carrying a DNA molecule that was inserted into a cloning vector such that the entire genome of the organism is contained in the library.

3. cDNA Library: cDNA clones produced by cloning cDNA of total messenger RNA from a single organism or cell.

All three types of library construction defined above can be done in the WestCore laboratory.
