Helen Nessan-Merriman, Director
For 24 years, Helen Merriman and her husband Roger operated a commercial printing and publishing business in Pierre, SD. She organized, managed and directed nearly 40 staff members in marketing, publishing and distribution. During those years, Helen was instrumental in the planning, designing and development of the multi-state business.
Most recently Helen served as communications and development director for Catholic Social Services. She also has experience as a sales manager for two regional publications, as a coordinator of social services for a long-term care facility, and in leading both non-profit and for-profit entities.
Helen's background and skill set enable her to address effectively the goals set forth for the Women’s Business Center. Helen is originally from the Sioux Falls, SD area where she earned a bachelor's degree from Northern State University. She currently lives in Spearfish with her husband Roger.

Brittni Skipper, Program Assistant
Brittni Skipper is a 2009 graduate from Black Hills State University. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Strategic Leadership online through BHSU. Brittni joined the South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity in April 2011 as the Secretary. In December 2011, she accepted the position as the Program Assistant.
Brittni is responsible for coordinating training sessions, assisting in the evaluation of services offered, establishing and maintaing data and financial collections systems, and providing support to the program professionals among other duties. Brittni is originally from Huron, SD and now resides in Belle Fourche with her husband and daughter.
Tara Reinicke, Secretary/Office Assistant
Tara is a 2011 graduate of Black Hills State University. She received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and is pursuing her Master's in Counseling and Human Development at the University Center in Rapid City. Tara was born and raised in Rapid City, SD and now resides in Spearfish.
Tara works part time in the office and is responsible for the logistical coordination of events including pre-event day, event day and post event tasks. She assists with room/venue needs, technology needs, parking passes, room set up, creation and distribution of promotional materials, assembling event day materials, registration, maintaining databases, filing, providing customer service and minor financial report verification.
