Colonel Susan Pietrykowski, United States Air Force, 28th Medical Group Commander,
commands more than 250 active-duty military and civilian members and is responsible for ensuring maximum wartime readiness by operating a community-based healthcare system maintaining the health and morale of Air Force members through accessible, quality medical and dental care for about 13,600 beneficiaries. Colonel Pietrykowski holds a Masters of Business Administration and Military Operational Art and Science and is a 2011 graduate of the National War College and a 2006 graduate of the Air Command and Staff College. She is board certified as a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).
Chief Warrant Officer 5 Darla Crown, Command Chief Warrant Officer, SD Army National Guard
In 2002, Chief Crown was promoted to Chief Warrant Officer 5, the first female in South Dakota history to attain this rank. In 2011, Major General (SD) Timothy A. Reisch appointed Chief Crown as South Dakota's Fifth State Command Chief Warrant Officer. As the Command Chief, she serves as the senior warrant officer advisor to the Adjutant General to address the warrant officer development and strength management of the Warrant Officer Corps.
Dr. Kay Schallenkamp, Black Hills State University President,
began her tenure as the ninth president of Black Hills State University in July of 2006. Dr. Schallenkamp served as president of Emporia State University for nine years, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and provost at Chadron State College. She is currently a member of the American College & University Presidents' Climate Commitment Steering Committee and on the Board of Directors for the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation. Dr. Schallenkamp holds three degrees in communication disorders: a B.S. from Northern State University, a master's from the University of South Dakota, and a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado.
