Students in Leadership: Focusing on the Future

This leadership training is for Junior and Senior BHSU women. Discover ways to boost your resume and stand out as a leader. Presenters include BHSU faculty and community professionals who will teach you about emotional intelligence, networking in a crowd, what not to wear, and more! Lunch will be provided.

Financial Management: Financing Options for Your Business Venture

Join David Puls, Lender Relations Specialist for the Small Business Administration and Fran White, Loan Officer at Black Hills Community Economic Development to learn about the financing options to meet your business needs. Specific SBA Loan Programs covered will be the SBA 504 Loan Program; the SBA 7(a) Guaranteed Loan Program; the SBA Microloan Program plus other local and state programs.

SD CEO is partnering with BHSU Facility Services and GenPro Energy Solutions to help you save energy and money! This workshop will cover what renewable energy options are available, how you can reduce energy costs, and what funding is available to you to meet your sustainability goals. This workshop will be held Wednesday, March 2 from 9:00am – 12:00pm (noon) at the BHSU Rapid City Campus (4300 Cheyenne Boulevard) in room 105.

Attend the March WIN on Tuesday, March 8th 12:00pm - 1:00pm in the Swarm room at the Spearfish Holiday Inn and Convention Center.

Women in Networking, WIN, is a networking organization for women that meets monthly on the 2nd Tuesday at the Spearfish Holiday Inn. Submit your nomination for the following awards to be presented a the "Celebrating Women in Business Luncheon/Awards" on May 13, 2016: "The Enterprising Young Entrepreneur," "The Enterprising Business Team," "The Enterprising Business Woman," and "The Enterprising Friend of Small Business." Your registration fee may be applied to a future event if you cancel at least 7 days prior to an event, or you may give your registration to a colleague or associate. The SD CEO, Women's Business Center, provides training and business assistance to current and aspiring entrepreneurs from start-up to expansion.

Special areas of focus:

  • Training- developing, providing and/or recommending training, seminars and workshops to meet the needs of startup and existing businesses.
  • Counseling- facilitating how SBA might best serve client needs and encourage the best direction in pursuit of a successful business.
